Hi and welcome to the very first blog post for Tangled Air Music and Audio production.
In this Blog, I’ll be posting regular updates about some of the exciting music projects that we are involved in and sharing some performance and production tips along the way.
Music technology is developing at an incredible pace and has been for the last 40 years or so. I feel lucky to have lived through such an amazing age of progress and change. From the excitement of seeing a Minimoog synthesiser for the first time, to the first “music computers” equipped with Dr T or Steinberg pro-24, to the incredible sample libraries and computer based virtual instruments and digital systems of today.
I’ve had the good fortune to be able to share my enthusiasm for music with lots of fantastically talented musicians, some of whom I grew up with playing in bands and orchestras, taking our first steps together into recording and performing. Later, running the Old Dairy Studios was a fantastic experience, recording many bands and artists across loads of different genres. We worked with bands, choirs, orchestras, community groups, and individuals often helping with arrangements, managing the projects and even performances and gigs.
In recent years, through teaching music at York College, I’ve been able to teach literally hundreds of young people and help them to develop their musical skills for a career in the industry, or to get the most out of a lifelong love of music.
Now that I’m Launching “Tanged Air Music” I hope to be able to support many more people with their musical and music tech aspirations and needs.
